I believe that health is a manifestation of balance, both within the body itself and between the body and the external environment. When the body is internally balanced and in harmony with the external environment, energy flows smoothly throughout to nourish all organs and tissues. By adjusting and stimulating the flow of energy through acupuncture, we stimulate the body's natural healing ability to maintain health and protect against disease.

I also believe that what we eat has significant effects on our "internal environment" and can either assist or compromise our bodies natural ability to heal. In our modern society processed foods, sugars and unbalanced diets have significantly contributed to the increase in obesity and diet related illness especially type 2 diabetes. We often don't get the nutrients the body needs for optimal function and healing. I recognized the need to address these issues to further optimize the health of my clients. I have integrated into my practice Nutrition Response Testing, a individualized clinical nutrition approach and the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Program.

Vicky Radel, L.AC. owner of Prairie Acupuncture and Natural Healing Center, has spent the last forty years studying health and healing from many perspectives. Her initial study and practice was as a registered nurse and then as a counselor helping people with problems in chemical dependency and mental illness. In the mid 80's she entered her studies in Traditional Chinese medicine and began her practice in 1989.
